Nostalgia
Hi this is vijayashekar from madurai...
I am a very nostalgic person...
i love the past.
it has taught me as many things as the present has...
and it has the amazing capacity to imprint in our mind such details that we cannot remember consciously...
for eg. when i think of my school, SDA where i studied from '92 to '99, i can still clearly remember the fresh morning smell when i entered the campus for the first time...
how i felt when i first saw my favorite teacher enter class ( i just knew that she is going to be great friend to me)
the morning assembly...
the times when i fell ill ( and those times were quite frequent) the feeling of being trapped in a bed with my family looking on... even now as i type, a shiver goes down my spine...
my first crush in school, my first visit to the principal's office...
my first fight, our first shared lunch with my friends...
these things are not stored in an orderly way in the mind...
just a flash here and a flash there...
but like lightning, that flash is so powerful and intense it can take me back through time and put me in the hotseat reliving the moment with all my five senses... not only with mind...
at such times i wonder...
why people remember unhappy happenings from the past????
if they store these moments with the same intensity as they do the other things... then life gets messed up...
you learnt a lesson.. ok.
remember the lesson don't remember the story that taught you the lesson...
then life can teach us a lot more lessons that will help us with our future...
i don't know where i started and where i have reached with this post...
please comment on it but please be gentle... (first time i am blogging)
